As many of you know, we were hoping to clear $6,200 from the Glass Slipper event as this is the average cost of each “wish” that the Make-A-Wish Foundation grants. But, it looks like we’ll need another event in order to reach this goal. This year was our first event, and while extremely rewarding on many levels, we learned a few things about fund raising. Namely, that this sort of activity is not for the faint of heart. There’s a huge amount of work involved, a million little details to iron out, and countless iterations to go through in order to pull it off. We saw 53 local Redding businesses come together to make the Glass Slipper happen and we saw first-hand what the Make-A-Wish program was all about through Heather Gold’s testimonial. All in all, this was an incredibly rewarding experience for Allison, Melissa, Jessica, and me. And, if we all ever get rested up, we’ll discuss the possibility of a second annual Glass Slipper event.
Silent auction proceeds were approximately $1000, ticket sale proceeds were a little over $1400, and out-of-pocket expenses were $200 leaving a grand total of $2200 going to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Thanks to each and every one of you who helped make this event a reality!
Chris and Jessica
